What do you think about feather hair extensions?

I saw them in a magezine and thought they looked really cute...but i was wanting other peoples opinions...? Sexy, ugly, tacky, cute? I was thinking about sneaking one in my bottom layer behind my ear...and also, i was wondering how long they stay in your hair and do you have to get them professionally put there? Thanka ao much!
